Q:

Andrew and John are both Beatles fans. Their respective collections share nine of the same albums. Andrew has seventeen albums in his collection. Six albums are in John's collection, but not Andrew's. How many albums are in either Andrew's or John's collection, but not both?

Accepted Solution

A:
There aren't seventeen official "albums" unless you count the albums made post Beatles with mixes of their songs possibly (i.e. The Blue Album and The Red Album). The Beatles have 12-13 official depending on if you count the Yellow Submarine soundtrack.

Anyways, this question is phrased strangely, but to answer your question, Andrew has 8 albums that John doesn't have and John has at least 6 that Andrew doesn't.

Hope I helped!
